the coat #1

Coatpattern

I decided to make a coat(view b without the pockets) for winter....last summer! hmmm I should say I had the best intentions to make a coat. I suppose I have the excuse of the flood to see me through but that one is wearing a bit thin now so I have decided to get on with things.

Coat2

I cut out the main fabric sometime ago, its a scrummy green tweed ( I think the lady in the shop said it was a golfing fabric) anyway its just right. A couple of days ago I finally cut out the perfect liberty lawn that I am using for the lining and had over a mtr left so another bonus, maybe a matching bag I hear you call but i couldnt wear them together I never match!

Coat

So next job is to rummage out the interfacing that I bought...wherever that maybe. I will keep you posted on my progress.

My #1 son is off to York today on a school trip needless to say it was excited bedlam in the house this morning especially as he got a (small) packet  of kettle chips to have with his lunch....crisps are a special treat here not a daily occurance and #2 son was not at all pleased. Anyway back to the trip it is with his favourite teacher who is leaving at Easter and Jake is really sad. Come to think of it I am really sad too as she brought a real breath of creativity to the school and wasn't hung up on damn tests & results.....I shall rant about those at another time!!
